Most of our
mail volume comes by way of first class mailings. The USPS has
specific rules stating which class a particular mail piece needs to be
sent as. For most daily mail, such as statements, bills and
typical correspondence our first class presort is the solution you have
been looking for to save you money and time. Here is how the first
class presort program works:
Our state of the art PTI/Lockheed Martin bar coding machine, in essence, does the work for the post office. All of the daily mail from our clients is merged together to be sorted by the machine. The machine reads the address on the mail piece and then applies a barcode for the corresponding address. A special camera then reads the barcode and sends the mail to a special slot on the machine. All of the mail for a particular zip code is grouped together, then the mail is put in a postal tray and delivered to the post office. All the postal service has to do is deliver the sorted tray to it's destination, saving them the sorting and bar-coding work. This means savings in postage to you. All you have to do is set a pickup time for a Midwest Mailing Service driver to pick up your mail. We will take it from there. Or if you prefer, you can affix the discounted postage rate in your own mailroom. We will pickup, sort and deliver the mail and you save time and money. Midwest Mailing Service also offers a presort service for flats. For a small sorting fee, MMS will sort flats into zip code groups, allowing the mail to be sent out at a discounted rate. This program works similar to the first class presort service for letters.
